Alstom and Nomad Digital – a shared vision

On 5 January 2017, Nomad Digital became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alstom.

Alstom and Nomad share a vision to make the Digital Train a reality, and Alstom’s heritage and pedigree in train manufacturing enables Nomad to accelerate the delivery of that vision.

Headquartered in France, Alstom is present in over 60 countries and employs 36,300 people today.

Nomad Digital wins contract with NS (Netherlands) for WiFi and passenger Information on the Intercity Fleet.

Nomad digital secures passenger WiFi contract with NSB.

2007

Launched the world's first train to trackside private 802.16

Nomad Digital launch the world’s first train to trackside private 802.16 comms network underground WiFi for Heathrow Express.

2005

First contract win

First contract win with Southern Trains for passenger WiFi.

2003

Proof of concept for Southern Trains

Nomad Digital started the proof of concept trial for Southern Trains on the London to Brighton line.

Opened head office
