Lina Tran - USA Finance Manager, Rockville

My Nomad journey

So far in my career I’ve had the privilege of working across a variety of industries. During high school and college, I worked in pharmaceuticals. Then after I graduated, I joined a media company and stayed there for six years but I always knew I wanted my next job to be for a SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) within a new industry. That’s when I decided to move to Nomad. I started my job two years ago at as the Finance Manager for the North American region and I have not looked back since.

It's all about upskilling

In my previous roles I would purely handle one area of Finance but in my current role at Nomad I am handling all areas of Finance for my region.

Nomad have allowed me to upskill, gain insight and experience into every type of finance role in the field. Everything from accounts payable, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, sales proposals, month end close, expenses, payroll, taxes I get involved with. Basically, anything money related, I do!

I also assist HR with setting up new employees, benefits, pension and make sure everything’s appropriate from a finance point of view.

Why I enjoy working at Nomad

Nomad has let me grow into my career. There are daily challenges and I’m constantly learning to navigate finance in a whole new industry. I’m also lucky to work with some great people.
