Anthony Cox - Senior Bid Manager, Newcastle upon Tyne (HQ)

My Nomad story

I’m Anthony and Nomad’s Senior Bid Manager. I grew up and live in Newcastle upon Tyne. I enjoy travelling, and I like to keep active. I find exercise a really great way to de-stress, which is particularly useful as I support Newcastle United! At university I completed a Batchelor’s degree in Business Administration after which I received EU funding to study for a Masters degree in International Management – which I loved!

I joined Nomad in 2013 and started as a Bid Manager. There has been significant changes to the business since I joined. Over time, both the organisation and the Bid department have grown, and the product portfolio of Nomad has increased to meet new customer demands.

from then to now

I am now the Senior Bid Manager and work globally to support other regions, managing multiple bids. I’m involved in every aspect of the submission and it’s my job to manage bid team activity, and to drive corporate governance by ensuring the internal bid approval process is followed. I ensure that deadlines are met and ensure the submission is as comprehensive and accurate as possible.

I have developed a balance of skills to help create, develop and deliver a winning bid. Time management, organisation, understanding the customer requirements and the ability to meet deadlines is critical to either the success or failure of a bid, but for me working across multiple time zones and managing opportunities across multiple languages is something which I have developed significantly since working in Nomad.

Why I enjoy working at Nomad

Nomad values its staff which is really important. It’s often the little things that make a big difference. There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the office which makes coming to work enjoyable. I enjoy the variety of the role and uniquely, you get an understanding and knowledge over most areas of the business, working with a variety of people with multiple skill-sets.
