North America Footprint expands with UP Express win

( 9 February 2015) Nomad Digital provides Passenger WiFi solution for new Union Pearson Express.

Nomad Digital has been chosen to provide the Passenger WiFi solution for Union Pearson Express, which will connect Canada’s two busiest transportation hubs: Union Station in downtown Toronto and Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Managing the full solution design and integration, Nomad’s technology will offer a best-in-class Passenger WiFi service, also providing a portal with multi-lingual and wide device support, platform to train roaming, and real-time customer support for Union Pearson Express (UP Express) passengers.

Nomad’s technology will offer passengers a seamless connection on-board, as well as on the UP platforms, and will integrate with a third party, deploying its global-leading connectivity solution on 18 cars. Each car will have its own internet server to give UP Express the freedom to organise and connect cars as they wish – whilst maintaining a fast and high availability connection.

A Division of Metrolinx, UP Express is scheduled to launch in spring of 2015 offering a fast, reliable and convenient service for over 5,000 passengers a day, connecting Canada’s two biggest transport landmarks ahead of the 2015 Pan Am games.

Nomad’s design, integration and deployment will be accompanied by comprehensive OEM support to ensure that the service maintains the highest levels of passenger satisfaction during some of the service’s busiest periods.
