(Newcastle upon Tyne, 25 September 2014) Nomad Digital, has been chosen by the train manufacturer Bombardier, to provide a full end-to-end Passenger WiFi deployment set to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Ordered by the Australian government owned operator, Queensland Rail, Nomad will be installing its leading end-to-end solution on 75 new six-car trains, which will be delivered by Bombardier to increase capacity on commuter services in South East Queensland, Australia.
In addition to the superiority and innovation-led WiFi solution proposed by Nomad, the global leader was also chosen on the strength and success of its existing relationship with Queensland Rail, with whom it has deployed a Passenger WiFi solution on 64 trains, which has been in operation since 2012.
