Nomad in the United States gets business management boost

(Newcastle upon Tyne, 12 December 2016)  Nomad Digital, the world’s leading provider of passenger and fleet connectivity solutions to the rail industry has recently expanded the scope coverage of its ISO 9001 certification to cover its US operations, based out of its Rockville headquarters.

Following the successful completion of an external audit, completed in Rockville, Nomad’s US operations are now included and covered by their Certification Body, LRQA. Nomad’s customers have the assurance it has an effective business management system in place that meets an internationally-recognised standard for quality management.

This is a clear demonstration that Nomad’s processes and procedures are robust and regularly audited externally, and that it is continually striving to further improve its operations and services. The audit in Rockville builds on Nomad’s scope which already includes its UK and European operations. Nomad is certified to ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 and is working towards becoming ISO 14001 certified.

John Mills, Nomad Digital QHSE Manager, said “This expansion of our ISO 9001 certification scope shows our ambition to cover all of Nomad’s operations with this International Standard recognition.

“We are developing our Business Management System on a continuous basis. Quality, Health and Safety is central to everything we do and we are working towards preparing for the transition to the new standard of ISO 9001.”

Damian Bryant, Nomad Digital President & CEO Americas Region, added “Our local operations have now been recognised and covered with this scope extension which is a positive step and will certainly be something our customers here appreciate, as it demonstrates our full and ongoing commitment to them.”

While Nomad’s Remote Online Condition Monitoring, Driver Assist and Power Train products are targeted at more efficient fleet maintenance operations and improving fuel economy.
