Nomad Digital, the global leader in wireless connectivity solutions to the transportation sector, has won the ‘Global Expansion’ award – at the 2014 Northern Tech Awards.

The Global Expansion Award recognises international growth over a 3-year-period, by evaluating a company’s revenue against its status as a global operating business, head-quartered in the North of England.

Held in Manchester, the event was attended by over 3,000 technology experts, investors and entrepreneurs, to recognise the ‘Top 50 Fastest Growing Technology Companies’ in the North of England.

Northern Tech Awards organiser, Hugh Campbell, spoke glowingly about Nomad at the event, “I have known Nomad since the very beginning and it was fantastic to meet the team again and see how far the business has come. Delivering WiFi on trains is technically and commercially very difficult – and so their ability to expand internationally is all that more impressive. The team should be very proud of their achievements as the world leader in this sector.”

The award follows-on from Nomad’s recent selection into the prestigious  UK Government-backed “Future Fifty Programme”, for high-growth companies,  as well as its inclusion last September in the Tech Track’s “Top 50 Fastest Growing Technology Companies” for the third year running.

Accepting the award, as well as representing Nomad as one of the ‘Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies’ at the event, Founder Nigel Wallbridge said; “The Global Expansion Award is a testament and credit to all Nomad employees, in all regions. As always, I am delighted to receive an award on behalf of the team, but I am exceptionally proud to accept an accolade that reflects the high-level of teamwork and collaborative innovation for which Nomad has always been renowned for.”
