Nomad Digital is delighted to be joining East Midland Trains, Virgin East Coast and Network Rail as sponsors for the UK’s first train Hackathon this weekend.
Approximately 40 of Europe’s best developers will be using a number of UK trains as a mobile office, as they work against the clock to create start-ups, apps and prototypes that will be presented in front of CEOs and investors in a bid to become the HackTrain champion.
Attracting some of the best tech and digital talent from across the continent, the developing collective has been engaging the transport industry to create next-generation applications that will offer new efficient and innovative platforms for transport companies, operators and passenger alike.
Utilising Nomad’s global leading Passenger WiFi technology for most of the journey, the HackTrain team will be making the most of their time on-board UK trains, as they work on individual projects travelling from London to Edinburgh.
Launching at Kings Cross St. Pancras on Friday 27th, the HackTrain group will stop of at a number of the UK’s best Tech spaces, with final presentations due to begin on Sunday 29th.
