NOMAD DIGITAL: EMT MERIDIAN INSTALLATION COMPLETE

Following service launch in early September 2010, Nomad Digital is pleased to announce that passenger WiFi is now available on East Midlands Trains’ entire Meridian fleet (27 units) covering journeys on the London-Sheffield and London-Nottingham routes.

Additionally four of the eleven MKIII HSTs have passenger WiFi installed and over the next two months, the service will be rolled out across the MKIII HST Fleet. Nomad has been awarded a 5 year contract to provide its’ on train technology which includes payment services and a passenger helpdesk. At the heart of the solution is the market-leading R3500 router which will aggregate multiple 3G networks to provide an enhanced service experience to the users. The new WiFi service has been well received and passenger feedback has been positive. The service is complimentary to 1st class passengers and available for a small charge to standard class passengers.

The WiFi service can now also be utilised by corporate customers using iPass services. Nigel Wallbridge, Executive Chairman of Nomad Digital commented,
